Respect Is a Two Way Street

Rattling Around…

Rattling around in my head for several years was the phrase, “Respect is a two way street”. It always made sense to me that civil discourse was key to finding a solution to a problem. Things seem impossible today, but evil has always been around. Instead of uniting around God and seeking solutions together, we depend upon bureaucrats in a heartless government.

Common Sense

When people are divided, they’re easier to control- that’s just common sense. Problem is, in this ridiculous post-modern nonsensical atmosphere, up is down, down is up, etc. People must listen to one another. Respect is a two way street.

“Our individual lives cannot, generally, be works of art unless the social order is also” is quoted from American sociologist Charles Horton Cooley.
This explains the rush to destroy American individualism. A few collective mobs are easier to control than the multitudes of individual minds out there. They can be “guided” by pure emotion. Does lynching ring a bell?

To be a civil society you have to be civil. Quite a concept, isn’t it? This involves replacing emotions with facts. Imagine that? Next, take a deep breath and listen to the opposition. Here’s the rub- they have to listen to you as well. Until we stop being manipulated on sheer emotion, we’ll have the results we see today-chaos. Let’s rebel against the cabal-let’s talk!

Better get in line. Hear it all the time.
Believe them if you want-alabaster elephants!
Might seem aloof, but all we want’s the truth.
There’s no guarantee of speech that’s truly free.

If you listen to me, I will listen to you.
We don’t have to agree to let humanity through.
Wrap your head around all sorts of sounds.
Dissonance and harmony. Let’s agree to disagree.

Respect is a two way street. No one need admit defeat.
Don’t be victims of deceit. Respect is a two way street.

Cherish precious life, not a world of strife.
Reach for common ground. If you look, it can be found.
Honor me; I’ll honor you.
With God, there’s nothing we can’t do.

One day, we hope to find the answer for all mankind.
Delivered by a snow-white dove- Eternal, Everlasting Love.
Have an open heart. That’s a place to start.
Although slowly, day by day, forgiveness could be on the way.
